Requirements:
Previous experience in Strength and Conditioning at the high school level or higher.
First Aid & CPR certification.
Maine Department of Education valid fingerprinting and CHRC approval.
NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching Principles Certification.
Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist Certification (preferred)
Experience/
familiarity
with google software, technology and Teambuilder Software.
Other certification and training may be deemed necessary by the Department, Board or Maine Principals Association.
Reports To:
The athletic administrator and the department of athletics, who provides overall objectives, direction, and final evaluation.
Job Description:
To instruct student-athletes in the fundamental skills, strategy and physical training necessary for improvement. At the same time, the student shall receive instruction that will lead to the formulation of moral values, pride of accomplishment, acceptable social behavior, self-discipline and self-confidence.
Ensure and provide the safest possible environment for all student-athletes involved.
With the direction of the Athletic Director and Department of Athletics assume overall management of the weight room and all necessary equipment.
Duties:
Manage schedule for the weight room as necessary.
Properly supervise weight room and student-athletes.
Work collaboratively with the Athletic Training staff to develop plans regarding student-athlete rehabilitation and team maintenance.
Collaborate with coaching staff, while following all MPA and school guidelines, to design pre-season, in-season and post-season strength & conditions programs.
Educate student-athletes in proper technique, rest, nutrition and recovery.
Upkeep of strength and conditional equipment and make recommendations to Athletic staff on equipment refresh & renewal.
Design and implement policies and procedures for the strength and conditioning program.
Implement and practice proper safety measures related to Strength & Conditioning.
Inform the athletic department of any code of conduct related issues in a timely manner.
Attend all school Athletic Department meetings as assigned by the Athletic Director.
All others as assigned by the Director of Athletics and the Athletic Department.
Maine State Law requires ALL school employees to be fingerprinted and pass a Criminal History Record Check (CHRC). A copy of your CHRC MUST be uploaded as part of your application to be considered.
