Head Softball Coach JobID: 2419 Position Type: Athletics/ Head Coach Date Posted: 3/10/2026 Location: East Jackson High School Date Available: SY 26-27 Job Summary Jackson County School System is seeking a motivated head coach to lead our softball program at East Jackson High School into a competitive region and state power. The coach will be expected to fulfill a full time teaching load with assignment based on experience and teaching certification. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree Successful softball coaching experience Committed to building the program through GHSA authorized summer camps, spring/summer sped and conditioning training, and building relationships with the local recreation department and middle school programs. Committed to working cooperatively with feeder middle school administration and coaches to build a top-notch 6-12 program. Must be able to communicate effectively with all statekholders including students, staff, parents, community, and booster club members. Preferred Qualifications Degree in Education or related field Hold or be eligible to hold a GaPSC issued teaching certificate in a high school level field Head or assistant coaching experience at the varsity level Working Conditions Work is performed in a standard in-person classroom setting Regularly involves standing, speaking, and interacting with students, parents, and colleagues May require occasional lifting of materials or equipment Requires the ability to use classroom technology including projectors, computers, and learning management systems Regular work hours are during the school day, with occasional evening or weekend commitments for parent-teacher conferences, school events, or professional development Must be adaptable to varying student needs and class sizes May include additional duties such as sponsoring extracurricular activities or supervising student clubs Employment Terms: 190 Teaching Work Calendar plus additional coaching reqirements Annual Salary based on degree level and previous years of experience in a similar role Additional coaching supplement negotiated based on experience Jackson County Schools Salary Schedules Selection Procedures Thank you for your interest in joining Jackson County Schools.
