Position Description
Head Football Coach – Mohave High School
Qualifications:
Valid Arizona teaching or substitute certificate issued by ADE.
Valid IVP Fingerprint Card issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
Has the ability or organize and supervise a total program.
Has successful coaching experience in Football.
Has substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of Football.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Has a thorough knowledge of all the athletic/activity policies approved by the school board and is responsible for its implementation by the entire staff of the program.
Has knowledge of existing system, state, conference and region regulations; implements same consistently and interprets them for staff.
Establishes and administers a ninth through twelfth grade program in Football.
Plans, schedules, documents and carries out a regular organized program of practice.
Plans, schedules, documents and carries out a regular organized program of practice.
Establishes and/or maintains a pre-season program of interest and advocacy for football.
Establishes the fundamental philosophy, skills and techniques to be taught by staff. Design clinic and staff meetings to insure staff awareness of overall program.
At seasons end, analyzes staff effectiveness and evaluates all assistants. Evaluations to be completed within two weeks of the conclusion of the activity.
Assists the Athletic Director in scheduling.
Maintains necessary forms, records and paperwork as required.
Oversees the safety conditions of the equipment and facilities in the activity of responsibility.
Evaluates assigned officials if activity is a Varsity AIA contest on provided forms and turns in to the Athletic Director the day after the event or the following Monday.
Maintains a record of team statistics and requirements for learning.
Provides written training rules and any other regulations of the sport/activity to each student who is participating. Provides a copy of said guidelines to the Athletic Director.
Determines discipline, delineates procedure concerning due process when the enforcement of discipline is necessary and contacts parents when a student is suspended or dropped.
Establishes performance criteria and communicates them to the participants of the activity.
Is accountable for all equipment and arranges for issuing, storing and reconditioning of equipment.
Submits an annual inventory within two weeks of the completion of the season on the athletic/activity form.
Examines locker rooms before and after practice and games, checking on general cleanliness and maintenance.
Secures all doors, lights, windows and locks before leaving building if custodians are not on duty. Reports any problems to maintenance.
Promotes the sport within the school and promotes outside the school through news media or any other feasible manner.
Presents information to news media concerning any pre or post season activities and results.
Performs such other duties that are consistent with the nature of the position and that may be requested by the Athletic Director.
