Head Cheer Coach | Tanque Verde High School Academic Year: 2026-2027 Tanque Verde High School is looking for a dynamic, leadership-oriented Head Cheer Coach to lead our program for the 2026-2027 season. At TVHS, we believe that interscholastic activities are a vital extension of the classroom. We are seeking a coach who can sharpen athletic skills while shaping the character, integrity, and sportsmanship of our student-athletes. Key Responsibilities As the Head Coach, you are the primary architect of the team's culture and safety. Your role includes: Mentorship & Character Building: Model and promote high standards of sportsmanship and ethics. You will be expected to foster "good character" as a core pillar of the cheer program. Student Safety & Welfare: Prioritize the physical and emotional well-being of all participants. This includes active supervision in practice areas, locker rooms, and during travel to away games. Professional Diplomacy: Maintain a patient and professional demeanor when interacting with student-athletes, parents, colleagues, officials, and the public. Educational Integration: Ensure that all coaching interactions reflect the school's mission, treating every practice and performance as an opportunity for learning and personal growth. Required Qualifications To lead our Hawks, candidates must meet one of the following three credentialing paths: A valid Arizona Teaching Certificate . A valid Arizona Coaching Certificate . Completion of the NFHS (National Federation of State High School Associations) certification pathway. Post-Hire Requirements Within 45 days of your hire date, you must possess or complete: Fundamentals of Coaching (via nfhslearn.org) Sport-Specific Course (Cheer/Dance via nfhslearn.org) First Aid/CPR Certification Valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card
