About Our District
The Madison Metropolitan School District is the second largest school district in Wisconsin. The district serves a beautifully diverse population of more than 25,000 students. More than half are students of color. Almost half come from low income households. Nearly one third are English Language Learners, and more than 100 languages are represented in our schools. Madison schools are committed to making this district a place where every child thrives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee training of players in conjunction with other coaches
- Develop training plans for players in conjunction with other coaches
- Assist in overseeing the running of specific events as needed at home games as directed by head coach and Athletic Director
- Contribute to game line-up planning with other coaches
- Attend and coach at all practices
- Attend and coach at all games
- Assist other coaches in monitoring team members' practice attendance, school attendance, meet/match attendance, and grades
- Assist other coaches in enforcing team policies
- Responsible for providing student-athletes with feedback about their performance related to disposition, behavior, and team skills
- Successful completion of the required WIAA Rules Exam and video by the start of the sports season
- Participate in ongoing education and professional development to support the overall experience of all student athletes

Desired Qualifications
- Competitive playing experience at the high school level
- Previous coaching experience with preference to coaches with prior successful experience at the high school level
- Demonstrated knowledge of a wide range of contemporary systems in the sport
- Valid teaching license
- College playing/coaching experience
- Demonstrated ability to successfully implement sports systems in a high school setting

Working Conditions
- Work may require travel to different locations within the district and to off-site meetings.
- Position may require working evenings, nights, and some weekends.
- Certain positions within the District may allow hybrid work flexibility for a portion of their work schedule, depending on the needs of the position and the work unit. This topic and any remote work flexibility that may be available will be discussed in more detail in the interview process
- School-based positions are required to be in-person unless otherwise directed by the building principal.
Physical Requirements
