Job Summary: A high school assistant coach has many responsibilities. A summary and listing of some of those responsibilities are outlined below. The assistant coach will: 1. Support the head coach in conducting a parent/student/coach meeting at the beginning of each season. At that meeting, have written guidelines/handbook available for the parents and students that outlines your practice, attendance, lettering criteria, participation policies and behavior expectations for your players/participants. This should include a document signed by parents and participants agreeing to the information presented. 2. Communicate effectively and regularly with the head coach, student participants/team members, their parents and program coaches/sponsors so that expectations and procedure are clear. 3.
