JOB TITLE: Volunteer Coach REPORTS TO: Athletic Director/Principal SUPERVISES: Assistant coaches and athletes in the program JOB DESCRIPTION: To provide each athlete an opportunity to participate in athletics and develop physical skills, a sense of worth and competence, knowledge and understanding of the sport and principles of fair play. SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Determine athletic eligibility per Athletic Director request. 2. Maintains inventory control of all assigned equipment. 3. Supervises and instructs athletes during practice, competition, in locker rooms, and on activity buses. 4. Becomes knowledgeable of the fundamentals and rules of the sport being coached. 5. Supervises the care and treatment of athletic injuries. 6. Keeps parents, students, faculty and local media informed. 7. Attends District meetings and clinics. 8.
