Job Description / Essential Elements:
.CONDITIONS OF COMPETENCY:
1. Possession of valid first aid card.
2. Possession of valid CPR card.
3. Possession of valid driver's license.
4. Coaching theory and techniques - participation in organized competitive athletics in grades 7 - 12 or above in the sport to be coached.
5. Knowledge of rules and regulations of sport or activity.
6. Successful completion of a college-level course in adolescent psychology.
7. Personnel/payroll paperwork including fingerprint clearance.
Requirements / Qualifications
Valid First Aid and CPR required; possession of a valid driver's license; CIF Coaching Certificate, and Concussion certification.
• Prior High School Tennis Coaching experience preferred, but not required.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the fundamental skills and techniques, as well as the advanced techniques needed for Tennis.
• Demonstrated successful ability to teach, enforce, advocate and model appropriate behavior, character traits and educational values to student athletes
• Willingness to put in time during the offseason through the feeder program, camps, clinics, and other methods to build the program.
• Demonstrated successful ability to follow the National Federation of High Schools Coaches Code of Conduct and the California Interscholastic Federation Coaches Code of Conduct.
